What goes good with terra cotta walls?

I am redoing my kitchen. I have bead board below chair rail. Painting the top with terra cotta. All my trim is white. Cabinets are light oak. Can I leave the bead board white or do I need to use another color?

You could leave it white, but with the oak cabinets it may look alittle stark. How about a creamy shade like very light buttery yellow just to soften it up some.
