Black Wrought
a question about Wrought Iron?
I have an adorable dining set (table and chairs) from Pier 1 that is all black wrought iron with a glass top.
Problem is there isn’t room for it in the new house I’m moving to…but there is a large covered back porch that is exposed on only one side.
Do you think it will survive okay outside? What happens to wrought iron when it is outside? Does it rust? I’d like to use it again inside when I have a bigger house so I don’t want to ruin it.

Hi, Wrought iron for the outdoors has a different finish put on it so it can stand up to the outdoor elements. If yours isn’t for the outdoors you could put a metal lacquer on it to prevent it from rusting. Check with a paint store and see what they recommend. Hope this helps.
