Is this a healthy meal choice while on diet?

I’ve been getting really bored of eating veggies raw and im ready to experiment. I am planning on stir frying mixed veggies with rice and a little bit of spies, flavoring, and soy sauce. Obviously there would be more veggies than rice. I will also use VERY minimal oil. Is this a healthy meal choice?
Also, what should I do to make veggies in general taste better.. im tired of eating them raw!

Here are tips outside of your question – Eating 5 small meals a day is considered very healthy. Also eating fibrous carbs and lean proteins in each meal is very healthy.

Now coming to your question, here are tips -

1. You can prepare brown rice and veggies as you are planning – even with stir fry, you can produce different flavors with the following spice combinations -

– Salt, black pepper
– Turmeric powder, salt, red pepper
– Italian spices – basil, oregano etc., olive oil and salt and red pepper
– Indian spices – Turmeric powder, Garam masala (this is very spicy and tasty), salt OR Curry powder, salt, chili powder etc..
– Chinese fried rice – add soy sauce, salt, green chillies

Proteins you can consider adding to the stir fry rice – tofu, bean curd, egg whites (if you eat eggs), soya chunks soaked in water

2. You can also prepare veggie gravies that are very healthy. Take a saucepan of water, add tomato puree, salt, chilli powder – throw in the vegetables and allow to boil for 25 mins or so till the gravy thickens – you can use any green veggies for this. You can eat this with bread or mix with rice.

3. Here’s another good experiment – try taking okra, cauliflower, broccoli or yam – stir fry them with salt and pepper and little oil for a while, then mix in low fat plain yogurt, simmer under low flame for 1 min. or so, you get a delicious yogurt based gravy and veggies. Mix with brown rice.

4. Here’s a famous Indian gravy – Take onion and ginger paste, add in some turmeric and low fat milk and spices and add the veggies – allow to boil under low heat for 20 mins… you get this stuff in Indian restaurants

5. You can also try veggie wraps with veggies stir fry and low fat cheese

After a while you will love eating veggies this way and never eat them raw.
