Mustard Sauce for Stone Crab Claws

Have you ever eaten stone crab claws? If not, I’ll try to describe what they taste like. You’ve probably eaten other types of crabmeat, like blue crabs, snow crabs, or king crabs. The meat from stone crab claws is very similar to other types of crabmeat, but it has a slightly different flavor. Some people think it tastes sweeter, but I’m not so sure about that. Regardless, stone crab is a super tasty treat, no matter how it’s prepared. One of the best ways to prepare the claws is simply to boil them for a few minutes, until they turn bright red. After that, the shell is cracked and removed. Usually, the shorter pincer is left attached to the meat, making the flesh easier to pick up and dip into melted butter or into a seafood sauce.

Speaking of seafood sauce, I have a great one here for serving with stone crabs! This sauce works well with both hot and chilled stone crabs. I hope you enjoy it!
