Creating a romantic look in your bedroom

Is your room cluttered with electronics? In these modern days you probably have a telephone, an alarm, a television and maybe even a computer in your bedroom. You may consider these electronics a necessity but their presence creates a look thatâ€™s cluttered and distracting and takes away from the dreamy comfort you could have with a romantic bedroom style.

Slip into romance by changing up your dÃ©cor to reflect simplicity and softness. Start by choosing the appropriate bedroom set. Choose the right bedroom furniture to create a romantic style.

Start with a bold canopy bedroom set, something decorative and grand that exudes elegance. You can choose a bedroom set that is ornately carved or simply has some decorative touches. Add some sheer fabric to drape from the canopy. Choose soft colors and light fabrics as your canopy drape and choose bedding in complementary colors. To keep your canopy bedroom set from becoming overwhelmingly bold, keep bedding fabrics and colors soft and muted in romantic shades of pink, yellow or pastel blue.

Try outfitting your bedroom with a sleigh bedroom set that will offer a streamlined silhouette with just the right amount of flair. Sleigh beds originated from traditional French design. They were typically made of wood and carved. Called a sleigh bed because of the curl or bed in the headboard and footboards, the sleigh bed originally had an inward facing curl. Nowadays you can find beautifully carved sleigh beds with an outward curl making them ideal for lounging. To lend some romance to the look, add a decorative overhead lamp or small chandelier. Toss on a billowy comforter and youâ€™ll add softness to your look.

Finally, you canâ€™t have a romantic look with all those technological reminders in plain site so find a bedroom set that includes a matching armoire that you can store your clothing in but can also hide distracting electronics.
